Prof. Jean-Christophe Dissart, September - October 2010. Dr. Dissart (URPL Ph.D. 2003) is a Professor with the University of the Alpes in Grenoble (FRANCE). Areas of expertise: rural multi-functional landscapes, natural amenities and the economics of rural tourism.

Prof. Neil Klug, University of Witwaterstrand, Johannesburg SOUTH AFRICA Fall 2012. Neil is with the School of Architecture and Urban Planning, University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg (South Africa). Areas of expertise: Informal Settlement Upgrading and Affordable Housing Policy, Integrated Development Planning and Land Use Management mechanisms in the developing world context.

Prof. Pery Francisco Assis Shikida, January - March, 2010. Dr. Shikida is with the Department of Economics at Western Parana State University (BRAZIL) and a Senior Post-doctoral Fellow with the Brazilian National Council for Scientific and Techological Development. Areas of expertise: the economics of ethanol production, regional comparative advantages of ethanol production using sugar cane.

September 2010 - August of 2011. Dr. Tiancheng is a Fulbright Scholar from the Tianjin University (CHINA) School of Management. Areas of expertise: integrative tourism planning, regional ecotourism carrying capacity indices.

Prof. Erwin van der Krabben, Summer 2010. Dr. van der Krabben is with the Department of Spatial Planning, Nijmegen (The Netherlands). Areas of expertise: urban redevelopment processes, use of non-financial tools to facilitate the redevelopment process.

Wang Hui, September 2015 - August 2016. Wang is a Ph.D. candidate with School of Architecture, Southeast University (China). Her research interests includes the employment of rural-to-urban migrant workers, marketplaces and street vendors, and the role of the function they serve in the process of urbanization.

Prof. Wenxiong (William) Wang contributed to the Department as a 2014-15 Visiting Scholar. His research focuses on rural land use and management. He is an Associate Professor in the College of Land Management at Huazhong Agricultural University and leads several projects with the National Science Foundation of China. He holds both an MS and PhD in Engineering Management from Huazhong University and the University of the Southeast.

Prof. Knut Ingar Westeren, November 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014. Dr. Westeren is with the Department of Economics, Organization & Management at North Trondelag University College (Steinkjer, NORWAY). Areas of expertise: knowledge economies, regional science, and tourism economics.

Prof. Xianli Xia, September 2006- May 2007. Dr. Xia is with the Department of Economics at Northwest A&F University (Xi-an, CHINA). Areas of expertise: tourism economics, natural resource management, ecotourism.
