Transportation Planner (Mobility)
Provide program area expertise, project support, coordination, and collaboration with Public Works Staff and other City departments on complex, highly visible, and politically significant mobility-related policies, projects, and issues.
Research developing trends, evaluate data and gather public input for improvements and safety practices; make proactive recommendations for the implementation and/or the adoption of new City standards and practices and assist project managers and engineers by providing specialized input from initial concepts phase to final design.
Act as a City representative, liaison and advocate before advisory bodies, regulatory agencies, transportation agencies and with City, County, regional and State agencies, including the City’s Bicycle/Pedestrian Advisory Committee (B/PAC).
Develop, update, distribute and promote City programs, policies, education materials and projects to improve pedestrian, bicycle, and other forms of mobility.
Manage updates to the City’s Pedestrian and Bicycle Master Plans.
Develop and submit transportation-related grants applications and oversee proper execution and expenditure of grand funds received.
