This study builds a profile of farmers
and ranchers involved in the agritourism/recreation business. A survey of 292
such businesses was conducted. Agritourism recreations accounted for
approximately 16% of total income on average and the ability to make
"additional income" was the largest driving force for farmers and ranchers to
be involved in agribusiness.
